Happy April my dear readers! I am so glad that Spring is in full swing and that bright colors are once again found in abundance. What better way to celebrate the beginning of April than to share with you swatches and reviews of my favorites from the Zoya Awaken Collection!
Since my pocketbook is on a diet and I’m not super fond of oranges and yellows, I skipped Cole and Brooklyn and scooped up the remaining 4 Awaken Collection polishes along with the Monet Special Edition topper. Here are my selections in their bottle glory:
All swatches were done with OPI Nail Envy base coat and Poshé top coat, unless otherwise noted. Let the swatch party begin!
Zoya Dillon is described as a full-coverage, green mint metallic with a silver shimmer. What a beauty! I am immediately transported to Mermaid Cove when glimpsing this stunning sea-foam green! Dillon has a great formula and was opaque in two coats. My only complaint is that cleanup was a bit difficult; the shimmer really adhered to my skin and did not want to take a hike. What a small price to pay in order to rock such a gorgeous color!
Zoya Rebel is described as a full-coverage blue sky metallic with a silver shimmer and was also opaque in two coats. This one’s a stunner as well! Such a perfect color for Spring and so reminiscent of April showers.
Zoya Hudson is described as a full-coverage, purple orchid metallic with a silver shimmer. You guessed it: full opacity was achieved with two coats. These glass-flecked goddesses from the Awaken Collection never fail to deliver! The perfect amount of shimmer mixed with the most pigmented, beautiful Spring colors. I’m in love yet again! These polishes have made me polyamorous! 😉
Zoya Dot is described as a full-coverage pink petal cream and was originally released as Dot for fashion designer Zang Toi’s SS14 Collection. This is a gorgeous pale pink that would be flattering on everyone! The formula was slightly streaky but reached full opacity sans streaks with three coats.
Last but not least we have Zoya Monet, which is described as a multi-colored, cellophane holographic special effect topper. The hex glitters in this polish are designed to provide an impressionistic color change to your base polish color. Monet applied rather thick, but the final look and glitter dispersement was fabulous! Below is one coat of Monet over Dot.
Overall I am in love with the Zoya Awaken Collection, particularly the metallic shimmer polishes!
What do you think of this collection? Did you purchase any of the Awaken polishes for your arsenal? I’d love to know your thoughts on these lacquers in the comments below!
