Hi polished friends! I’m finally back in Colorado and looking forward to sharing some new nail designs with you. Although the past few weeks have been terribly difficult, particularly since my Dad passed away, it feels great to get back to nail art and blogging. That may sound a bit nuts, but painting my nails has always been like meditation for me and I’ve never needed this more than I do now, so let the meditating begin!
Today I would like to share with you a Vintage Chevron Manicure I did to honor my Dad and the decade when he was in his prime: the 1970’s!
For this manicure I used:
- Essie Nail Polish in Mint Candy Apple and A Crewed Interest
- Born Pretty Store Elliptical Rhinestones (item number 1674)
- Born Pretty Store Chevron Water Decals (item number 15075 – pictured below). Each package costs $2.86 and contains one sheet of cute chevron or floral patterned water decals for your manicuring pleasure.
I started out by painting my thumb, ring and pinky fingernails with Essie Mint Candy Apple and my index and middle fingernails with Essie A Crewed Interest. I then let this dry completely before moving on to water decal and rhinestone application.
I followed the directions on the back of the packaging for applying the water decals, however instead of using a blow dryer I let the finished design air dry.
I then topped everything off with topcoat and applied the rhinestones (I apply rhinestones with a little bit of nail glue and a small nail art dotter dipped in topcoat).
And there you have them! Some adorable retro 1970’s nails that are sure to keep you feeling groovy! If you are interested in ordering any of the items used in this manicure, head over to BornPrettyStore.com and be sure to use the code REDW10 at checkout for 10% off your order.
Thanks so much for stopping by! You mean the world to me!
