Hello polished friends! Today I would like to show you the adorable strawberries I wore on my nails for a Memorial Day barbecue we attended last week. This dotticure was surprisingly easy to do ~ keep reading if you’d like to learn how to duplicate this manicure for yourself!
- Polishes: Essie Style Hunter (red), Essie Going Incognito (dark green), Julep Leah (neon green) and Julep Lilou (yellow), along with base and top coat.
- Small Nail Art Detailing Brush such as this one.
- Small Nail Art Dotting Tool such as the green one in this kit.
I started out with an opaque base of Essie Style Hunter and let it partially dry. I then took the dark green color (Essie Going Incognito) along with the small nail art detailing brush and added the green leaves at the base of the strawberry. I added these leaves by going with an “A” shape in the middle of the base of the nail and then adding a few sprouts on either side of the “A”.
I then added the yellow seed dots with my small nail art dotter using Julep Lilou. I was careful to dot and drag ever so slightly to mimic the shape of actual seeds. Finally, I took Julep Leah (the light green color) and added highlights to the leaves with small brush strokes. This helps give the leaves dimension and really makes the design come together.
I really love how cute this designed turned out! It’s amazing what a little dotting action can do to a manicure!
