Hi everyone! I recently received some edgy striped metallic studs from Born Pretty Store and I’d like to share with you the manicure I created using these beauties. As most of you know, my Dad recently transitioned to the other side and ever since his passing I’ve been drawn to more masculine nail designs; somehow they are therapeutic for me. At any rate, even though I call this design “masculine”, it is indeed adorable and flattering!
For this manicure I used the following products:
- Illamasqua Rain Drops, Sally Hansen Gone Grey and a white Kiss Nail Art Striper
- Born Pretty Store Mini Round Metallic Studs (item number 15229)
- Nail Art Striping Brush (for the grey stripes)
- Small Nail Art Dotter (I have these)
I started out with an opaque base of Illamasqua Rain Drops. After this dried completely I added the stripes to my middle and pinky fingernails using the Kiss Nail Art Striper in white and the Sally Hansen Gone Grey polish with my nail art striping brush. I find it much easier to apply stripes by holding the brush still and slowly rotating my finger to one side. This keeps the line steady and prevents any crazy strokes that could mess up the design. I let these plaid nails dry completely then added one layer of topcoat.
Next I added topcoat to my index and ring fingernails and carefully applied the gorgeous striped metallic studs from Born Pretty Store before the topcoat dried (I applied these using a tiny nail art dotter dipped in topcoat). I chose to adhere the studs with topcoat instead of nail glue since I paint my nails every day or every other day, however if you’d like the manicure to last for several days or longer, be sure to adhere the studs with nail glue instead.
Overall I absolutely love the metallic studs used in this manicure! The mesmerizing stripes in these babies are what inspired the plaid design. If you are interested in getting your hands on these studs, click here and be sure to enter code REDW10 at checkout for 10% off your entire order!
