Hello darlings! Today I’d like to show you the adorable watermelon fimo I recently received from Born Pretty Store for review. Fimo have been all the rage this summer, especially in fruit designs, so I was really excited to try them out.
The charming fresh fruit fimo (item 11795) come in packets of 20 and are pre-sliced and ready to apply. They are available in a variety of fruit options, and would make for a darling fruit salad mani if you get your hands on a nice grouping of these. 🙂 Here are the options for this item from the Born Pretty Store website:
And here’s a close-up of the cutie-pie watermelon fimo I received:
For my manicure I started out with a neon gradient using a quartet of nail polishes including Julep Leah, Tatum and Laree and Essie Watermelon (of course!). I topped the gradient off with topcoat and let the polish dry completely before proceeding with fimo application.
I decided to use my nail scissors and cut the watermelon fimo in half for this manicure. They are rather flexible (a little like soft rubber in consistency) which made them a cinch to cut and apply.
I used a light swipe of topcoat on the back of the fimo to apply the watermelon slices, but if you really want the manicure to last I suggest a light dusting of nail glue instead. Since I paint my nails every day or every other day I didn’t feel it necessary to use nail glue to apply the product.
I absolutely adore these fimo nail decals from Born Pretty Store! They are perfect for summer and would be great for a party, barbecue, or if you are feeling a little more adventurous. This set of 20 fimo decals retails for just $1.65 and can be purchased here. Don’t forget to use code REDW10 at checkout for an additional 10% off your order!
What do you think of this manicure? Have you ever used fimo nail decals? I’d love to know your thoughts so don’t hesitate to leave a comment below.
