Hello Lovers! I recently received my first Nailbox TrendBox so today I’d like to share with you its contents. I’d also like to show you a fun nail art design created using these gorgeous polishes curated by the talented Sarah from Chalkboard Nails.
For those of you unfamiliar with TrendBox, it is a quarterly nail polish subscription box that supplies you with a minimum of 4 full-size nail polishes with a retail value of $60 or more. Each box is curated by top nail bloggers and trendsetters to keep your digits up to date with the seasons latest nail colors and brands. You pay $35 per box or $126 for an annual subscription at a 10% discount.
The Nailbox TrendBox Pre-Fall ’14 Collection included:
- NCLA Santa Monica Shore Thing ($16 full retail)
- LVX Cashmere ($16)
- Orly Hot Tropics ($8.50)
- Priti NYC Crysanthos ($15)
- Essie Matte About You ($8.50)
- NCLA Nail Wraps in Aly En Vogue ($16)
- Mini Pink Nail File ($1.50)
Because it happens to be incredibly dry here in Colorado, I decided to paint a waterfall on my nails with the polishes in this quarter’s TrendBox. I figured if I can’t get moisture in my environment I can at least daydream about it when I catch a glimpse of my fingernails!
I started out with a completely dry, opaque base of LVX Cashmere on my middle, ring and thumb fingernails. I then used a super skinny nail art striping brush to randomly add streaks of all of the remaining polish colors on top of Cashmere. For the index and pinky fingernails I simply painted an opaque base of NCLA Santa Monica Shore Thing and added several dots using nail art dotters when the polish was partially dry.
Last but not least I topped the entire manicure off with one coat of Essie Matte About You which really gave the design a fresh, modern look.
Overall the items included in this quarter’s TrendBox totaled $81.50. I paid $35 for the box, so I saved $46.50!
