Hi there polished beauties! I can’t wait to show you what was in my March Nail Art Society Kit and the adorable manicure that I created with its contents! If you haven’t already subscribed, I’m sure you will want to after seeing this cuteness 🙂
If you aren’t familiar with the Nail Art Society, they offer a new way to try the latest nail art trends via their monthly subscription box. For $11.95 per month plus shipping and handling, they curate and deliver to your door the latest tools, polishes and nail accessories for you to recreate current nail trends at home. The Nail Art Society kits typically contain one bottle of nail polish, one nail art tool, and one or two nail art accessories along with a step-by-step Instructional Card on how to complete a manicure with the products at home.
The theme for March’s kit was The Denim Blues and contained the following:
- Informational Card with nail art designs
- Habit Cosmetics nail polish in Blue Velvet
- One set of Nail Zipper water decals in Silver
- One set of Nail Zipper water decals in Gold
- The most adorable tissue paper EVER, made to look just like a pair of blue jeans (see First Look photo above)
Below is the zipper manicure I created with the contents of The Denim Blues Kit. I LOVE how this manicure turned out, and my husband (who likes to check out my nail art when I finish a manicure) actually claims this is his favorite manicure I’ve ever done!
This was my first time using Habit Cosmetics nail polish and I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. The final color is nice, however the formula was a bit pasty and I had to redip multiple times per fingernail in order to apply one coat. I’m hoping that maybe I received a defective polish; I’ll have to try this brand out another time and see what happens. When I do I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes.
I have one small complaint with the nail decal packaging: it clearly states these are “Nail Stickers” when in fact they are water decals. Since I had never used water decals prior to this manicure, I was a little confused as to how to apply these. Upon checking for instructions, I found one small section on the wrapper that was written in hard-to-comprehend English (see photo below). One quick Internet search and I discovered they were water decals, and boy do I love these things!! With just a little bit of water and some tweezers, I applied them to each nail after the blue polish was completely dry. They adhere to the nail much better than stickers and last much longer. I’m a huge fan! I must add some more of these fabdabulous things to my arsenal ASAP!
Despite the small packaging issue and the pasty polish, overall I love the final result of this manicure! I will definitely be doing this one again.
