Hello polished friends! Today I’d like to show you swatches of the teal polish Lizanne that I added on to my March Julep Maven Box. I’m a sucker for all things teal, so this polish was a total impulse buy!
Julep Lizanne is described as a sea green shimmer and is part of Julep’s It Girl Style Profile. This polish is an absolute stunner in the bottle, and would look gorgeous in a mermaid’s tail nail art manicure. That said, be sure to continue reading for a fair warning about an issue I had with this polish’s formula!
Two thin coats of Lizanne provided full opacity and the perfect amount of shimmer. I applied one layer of Poshé Top Coat to the swatch in these photos.
Although I adore the color of this polish, the formula has one severe flaw: it stained my nails! I even applied two coats of my favorite base coat (OPI Nail Envy) before swatching and two weeks later I am still battling teal stains on my fingernails. 🙁
I wanted my relationship with this polish to be positive and eternal, but when there are alternatives on the market that are comparable and non-staining I don’t want to risk staining my fingernails again. That said, Lizanne could be useful for detail work in nail art designs that only require minimal teal, so I will likely hang on to this one and use it sparingly. I also have to add that out of the 100+ Julep polishes that I own, this is the first one that has had a serious flaw! That’s a great track record if you ask me. 🙂
What do you think of Julep Lizanne? Did you receive it in your Maven Box? I’d love to know your thoughts on this polish so don’t hesitate to leave a comment below!
