Hello polished friends! Please pardon my recent hiatus from the beauty blogosphere! My Dad was in the hospital and I had to make an emergency trip to Louisiana to visit and arrange his care. Luckily everything is well now and I am ready to get back into posting more frequently. I really missed you all!
Today I would like to show you swatches and nail art using the lovely Julep Kayla. This is one of the polishes I selected for my April Julep Maven Box and it really delivered! Here are the bottle and dollop photos of this beauty from Julep.com:
Julep Kayla is described as an electric iris sheer with violet sheen and is part of Julep’s Bombshell Style Profile. This gorgeous jelly polish has a slight duochrome quality that shifts from electric purple to shimmery pink.
Most jelly polishes require multiple coats to reach full opacity and Kayla was no exception ~ I used three coats for this swatch followed by one coat of INM Out the Door Topcoat to up the shine factor.
I love the color and versatility of this polish. At full opacity you achieve a beautiful electric purple look that has a pink color shift in direct sunlight. You can also wear this as a topper over a white or black polish for a unique effect. Such a stunning and versatile polish is a must-have!
The photo below of a recent chevron manicure I did using Julep Kayla really showcases this color shift (I used Nail Vinyls to complete this nail art design).
I absolutely adore Julep Kayla and plan on wearing it throughout the upcoming spring and summer months! What do you think of this polish? Did you receive it in your April Maven Box? If not, Julep polishes are available at Sephora, but the Maven Program is a much more affordable way to get Julep polishes (they are $11.20 for Mavens vs. $14.00 regular retail). If you are interested in signing up, you are welcome to use my referral link by clicking here, and don’t forget to use the coupon code FREEBOX at checkout to get your first Maven Box free!
I’d love to know your thoughts on Kayla so don’t hesitate to leave a comment below!
