Hi everyone! Today I’d like to show you swatches of the Julep polish Kam, one of the nail lacquers I received in my May Maven Box. Keep reading if you love a good green pastel crème!
Julep Kam is described as a vintage spearmint crème and is part of Julep’s It Girl Style Profile. Upon first sight this description immediately reminds me of the Doublemint Twins, who famously sport green tennis outfits while promoting the Wrigley chewing gum of the same name. Super cute! One request I have of Julep is that they add information to their product descriptions online indicating who is being honored with each polish. I’m quite curious as to who Kam is, and how she equates to a “vintage spearmint crème” nail polish. Maybe one day … a girl can dream, right?!
I absolutely love the color of Kam, especially for Spring and Summer, however I found the formula for this polish to be a bit disappointing. It was thick and difficult to apply in thin coats, so I ended up reaching full opacity quickly but with a cumbersome application process. I prefer to apply my polish coats in thin layers, as this helps reduce dry time and lends a more svelte finish.
As evidenced from the collage at the beginning of this post, Kam actually presents more pastel than the photos of this polish on the Julep website. I actually like pastel polishes so this was a pleasant surprise. I topped the swatch of Kam off with one coat of Poshé Super-Fast Drying Topcoat and called it a night!
What do you think of Kam? Did you select her for your May Maven Box? I’d love to know your thoughts so don’t hesitate to leave a comment below.
Thanks for stopping by!
