Hi everyone! Today I would like to share with you swatches of the Julep polish Jeanne, which I received in my May Maven Box, along with the daytime sky nail art I created using this polish.
Julep Jeanne is described as a jet-set blue crème and is part of Julep’s Boho Glam Style Profile. I was excited to swatch this polish, as I’m quite partial to Julep crèmes, and am in need of a go-to pastel blue lacquer. I love how most of Julep’s crème formulations are easy one-coaters, which really helps this mom of 2 when I’m trying to finish my nails in a flash so I can fix a snack or wipe a bottom! 😉
Jeanne lived up to my formulation hopes in that it was opaque in one coat, however the formula was thicker than expected and hard to apply evenly. Luckily once the polish dried the uneven application was unnoticeable.
One thing I immediately noticed after swatching this polish: the color differs drastically on my nails than the color displayed in photos of Jeanne on Julep.com (see collage below). Fortunately I preferred the color as it looks on my nails, however if you are looking for a powder blue polish then Jeanne is not your lady.
This color reminds of bright summer days with endless sunshine and inspired me to create a summer sky mani. The design was super easy to complete …
I started with an opaque base of Julep Jeanne and added fluffy white clouds on top by dabbing a small piece of makeup sponge swiped with Essie Blanc over top. The result looks remarkably outdoor-lounge friendly and would be the perfect accessory to a piña colada! 😉
What do you think of Julep Jeanne? Did you receive it in your May Maven Box? If not, Julep polishes are available at Sephora, but the Maven Program is a much more affordable way to get Julep polishes (they are $11.20 for Mavens vs. $14.00 regular retail). If you are interested in signing up, you are welcome to use my referral link by clicking here, and don’t forget to use the coupon code FREEBOX at checkout to get your first Maven Box for $4.99 (you only pay shipping)!
I’d love to know your thoughts on Jeanne so don’t hesitate to leave a comment below!
