Hello polished friends! I recently received my February Maven Box and I’m dying to show it to you!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Julep, they offer access to their latest nail polish and beauty products via a monthly subscription box, the Maven Program. Each box costs $19.99 and contains products of $40 in value or more. There are 5 different style profiles to choose from (each containing different products) and you are free to switch to a different style each month if you so desire.
February’s Maven offering is called The Dramatic Collection and is full of lovely jewel tones and glitters. The theme is “glitz and glam” and is meant to symbolize the glamour of the Academy Awards which typically airs in February. Since I’m a sucker for jewel tones and movies (and my birthday is in February), I opted for the Dramatic Upgrade. This upgrade was an additional $35 on top of the normal $19.99, and included nine new nail colors, one Eye Sheen of my choice, Ink Gel Eyeliner, an Angled Liner Brush, and the bonus gift polish Love. Read on for full details and photos of each of these items!
Boho Glam Polishes (2)
Cameron ($11.20 for Mavens / $14 full retail): This polish is described as a silver lilac stardust (matte glitter). This was one of the shades that totally roped me in! I’m dying to see how the new stardust finish looks on my nails.
Rooney ($11.20 / $14): This polish is described as a walnut bark crème. In the bottle it looks like a beautiful taupe shade that might be a dupe for the Zoya Normani I swatched recently. I’m hoping to swatch the Julep polishes I received this month and will likely do a comparison to reveal definitively if these two polishes are actual dupes. Either way this is a staple neutral shade and I’m digging it!
Bombshell Polishes (3)
Love ($11.20 / $14) is a full-coverage gold, pearl and fuchsia micro glitter that was gifted to all Mavens in February by Julep CEO, Jane Park. This stunning glitter is perfect for a Valentine’s Day manicure accent nail!
Judi ($11.20 / $14) is described as an English violet crème. This is a deep, jewel-tone purple that almost looks black in the bottle.
Kristen ($11.20 / $14) is described as a deep sea teal with silver microshimmer. This polish is superbly sparkly and reminds me of a snowy winter night. Can’t wait to swatch this one!
Classic with a Twist Polishes (2)
Greta ($11.20 / $14) is described as a Loganberry multidimensional microglitter. This is another polish that will make for some fabulous Valentine’s Day manicures! The vibrant pink in this polish has the slightest hint of silver, such a beautiful duo.
Octavia ($11.20 / $14) is described as a smoky indigo crème. This is another vibrant jewel-tone polish that had me at hello! A must-have in my opinion.
It Girl Polishes (3)
Diamond Theory ($11.20 / $14) is described as a full-coverage multidimensional copper glitter. A sparkly staple for your nail polish arsenal.
Roc Solid ($11.20 / $14) is described as a vintage military crème. This polish is a gorgeous, muted hunter green and would look fabulous paired with the Diamond Theory copper glitter. I’m sensing some nail art with these two in my near future.
Glam Roc ($11.20 / $14) is described as a midnight purple and gold stardust (matte glitter). Peering into this bottle of polish is a galactic experience indeed! 🙂
All three of the It Girl polishes this month were curated and named by Jay-Z’s RocNation.
Eyeshadow and Eyeliner Products (3)
The Julep Eye Sheen Liquid Eyeshadow in Pale Nude Shimmer ($14.40 / $18) is described as a liquid eyeshadow that glides on easily and sets to a satin finish that stays put all day. I selected the lightest shade so I can layer some of my darker eyeshadow shades on top of this. I’m hoping to use the Pale Nude Shimmer as my eyeshadow base since it is supposed to last all day.
The Julep Ink Gel Eyeliner ($17.60 / $22) is described as a creamy jet-black eyeliner packed with encapsulated pigments that deliver intense lines with a silky-smooth, smudge-proof finish. Sounds like it’s a keeper!
In summary, my February Julep Maven Dramatic Upgrade box contained items with a total value of $158.40 (Maven pricing) or $198 (regular retail). I paid $55 for the box, a great deal if you ask me!
