Hello polished friends! Please accept my apologies for posting my Easter manicure one week after Easter. We had a surprise visit from my Mother-In-Law for the holiday and then I came down with a horrible cold, so I’ve been slacking on my posts. I’m so happy that I’m finally feeling better and can’t wait to show you this adorable nail art design! Hopefully you can try it out next Easter, or for another holiday in the near future.
I don’t typically wear textured polishes often, but I keep an arsenal of about 10 textured polishes for occasions such as these. I have fond memories of dying Easter eggs and covering them with glitter in my youth, and I knew that my vibrant OPI Liquid Sand polishes would work perfectly to recreate this memory on my fingernails.
I used the following products for this manicure:
- OPI Nail Envy (one coat as base)
- Essie Grow Stonger (one coat as base)
- Nail Vinyls by Teismom (these are super easy to use and can be purchased here)
- Essie Blanc
- OPI Liquid Sand in Pussy Galore (Pink)
- OPI Liquid Sand in Tiffany Case (Tealish Blue)
- OPI Liquid Sand in Can’t Let Go (Purple)
As is typically the case when I embark on a nail art manicure, I applied my base swatch and and wore it for an entire day (in this case it was Essie Blanc). I then added my artwork the following evening using Nail Vinyl stickers (I used the small chevrons and stripes) and the OPI Liquid Sand polishes listed above. I like splitting my nail art projects up over two days, as it allows me to spend time with my husband before crashing for the night, and I also get to wear a swatch for an entire day to determine how much I like the formula and the color.
In any case, be sure to let your base color dry completely before moving on to the nail vinyl step, otherwise you risk ruining your work and having to start over. For this manicure I didn’t use topcoat, as I wanted the design to resemble decorated Easter eggs as much as possible.
What do you think of this design? Did you wear something similar for the holiday? I’d love to know your thoughts so please leave a comment below!
Thanks for stopping by!
