Hello polished friends! Today I would like to show you my first attempt at Aztec Nails. This isn’t my best work, but it was fun and meditative to paint the detail so I will likely be doing these or something similar again in the future.
For this manicure I used Lancôme Vernis in Jolie Rosalie, Essie Blanc, Essie Licorice, a fine nail art detailing brush and black rhinestones from the Born Pretty Store (use code REDW10 to receive 10% off at Born Pretty Store).
This was my first time using a Lancôme nail polish and I fell in love with the formula! It offered excellent coverage and highly pigmented color. I’ll be investing in more of their nail polishes in the near future. Here’s hoping they all have such a wonderful formula!
I thought about using tape to add the geometric shapes on this mani as tape typically provides crisper lines, but I struggle with waiting for the base polish to dry enough before proceeding with the rest of my manicure. So down the freehand path I went and ended up enjoying the application process. A good nail art brush for this type of detail is imperative! I currently have a set of detail brushes from the Winstonia Store that have held up well and do a great job.
Overall I am quite pleased with how this manicure turned out. I especially love the contrasting colors and how the black and white really make everything pop!
What do you think of this design? Have you done Aztec Nails yet? I’d love to know your thoughts so don’t hesitate to leave a comment below.
